About Stephen

As a NED Stephen brings strategic oversight and independent perspective to the Probitas board, leveraging his extensive experience in the insurance industry to provide objective guidance on the future success of the business.

Stephen is a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years of experience in Financial Services. He joined Aviva in April 1996 and is currently the CFO for the UK & Ireland General Insurance business where he is responsible for all aspects of Finance.

Prior to this, Stephen has held a number of senior roles at Aviva and has a breadth of experience including Finance, Risk, Strategy Development & Execution, Business Transformation, Programme Management, M&A / Commercial Deals, and leading large business units. Most recently Stephen was the Chief of Staff to the Group CEO and CFO.

Stephen began his career at PwC, where he qualified as an accountant, prior to joining EY to specialise in Corporate Finance. Stephen has a degree in Economics from University College London and has undertaken Executive Education at Wharton, Insead, and London Business School.
